Class 1 - Getting Down With Hip Hop Blues

This class will cover Hip Hop body styling along with solo and paired footwork, with an emphasis on "getting down."

 

Class 2 - Cool Partner Moves With a Hip Hop Flavor

We will cover closed position pops and hits and other cool moves for both leads and follows.

 

From Mike and Laura:

1 Person, 4 Feet
This class will deal with followers and leaders matching each
other's basic lead follow in closed position, as well as matching
their ideas about the speed, texture and dynamic of the dance.

Blues Body Movement
In this class, Mike and Laura will go over the technique of
effortless, expressive body movement. This will improve both your
ability to move yourself naturally and musically, and move / be moved
by your partner.

Open Blues
In this class, Mike and Laura explore blues in open position, focusing on
staying connected while open, but using its inherent freedom to express
awesome ideas inspired by the music and each other.

Tango & Blues
Discover how much Tango and Blues have in common.  And learn how to use the fluid movement of Tango in your blues styling.

Dips, Drops, and Tricks
Learn fun new ways to dip and use gravity to your advantage, along with fun rhythmic tricks to add to your dancing.

3-D Blues
Learn how to integrate movements in all axis directions; along with some stylistic pointers. 

Listen to the Music
This class you don't want to miss!  We will be exploring in detail how to interpret different forms of music as well as showing how the Follow and Lead can equally contribute to the musicality of your dance.  Our exercises will really help you get our of your normal lead-follow dance mentality and help give you mind a "leg up" on your dancing.

CORE CONNECTION

Learn how to find and engage your core muscles and then use them to enhance your blues connection. 
A core connection exponentially increases your ability to communicate with a partner and tones your stomach
muscles.  Absolutely everyone should be in this class.

TO FUZE OR NOT TO FUZE

Get smart about the music and the dance styles that compliment them.  Learn how to distinguish between
various dance beats and their fusions, and then make an educated decision about how to move your body
to the beat.
